What are cam connectors?
Cam connectors are special fastening elements primarily used in the furniture industry for a stable yet detachable connection of panel materials. They are designed to ensure a firm and solid connection while also allowing easy assembly and disassembly.
Cam connectors generally consist of two parts:
- A cam, which is inserted into a pre-drilled round hole in the panel material.
- A screw, which is inserted into a separate but aligned hole in the panel to be connected.
When the screw is turned, it rotates the cam, which then locks into the hole and creates a secure connection. The strength of the connection can be adjusted by turning the screw. Cam connectors are a practical solution for DIY users, as they do not require special tools for assembly and offer a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
