The Loox 5 series recessed LED lights have the special feature that you can use them with a housing as under-cabinet lights. In addition, you have a wide selection of housings for recessed lights, depending on the type of light and the environment in which it is to be installed. The Loox 5 lighting system also offers a broad range of accessories: from remote controls and Bluetooth wall switches to clip connectors for LED strip lights.
The right housings for recessed and surface-mounted lights
The widest selection is available for square and round LED spotlights. They are the classic LED lighting for cabinets, display cases, shelves, in bathrooms or above countertops. Wherever you want to add an accent or highlight something with light, a Loox 5 LED light is used. For the classic spotlights, you can choose between round and square housings. However, these are purely aesthetic; it is up to your taste whether you prefer round or square shapes.
Both the recessed housing and the surface-mounted housing consist of just one part. For recessed lights, the housing ring is simply placed over the light before fitting and screwed in with a slight turn to the left. For a surface-mounted light, the housing is first attached with two screws. Then the finishing ring is secured as with the recessed light, and finally the light unit is inserted into the housing. There it locks into place with a clearly audible click.
Housings for LED lights are available in special shapes, for example if they are intended to emit light at an angle or as triangular surface-mounted housings. For the LED series 2090 and 3090, you can choose from various colors: anthracite, brown, stainless steel look, matte nickel, black, silver, and white. These housings are available in round and square versions as surface-mounted or recessed housings.
Loox 5 accessories from remote control to wall switch
In addition to the housings, Loox 5 offers a wide selection of accessories. Very popular, for example, is the Bluetooth remote control. With it, you can control the 6-way distributors in the Connected Mesh network. The practical thing about the system integration is that you can assign your own functions to the buttons, for example. No programming knowledge is required; you only need the Connect app. It lets you define which elements connected to a Bluetooth distributor are controlled by which buttons on the remote control. Using the arrow keys and illuminated numbers, you can switch between the individual elements. You can turn them on and off, adjust the brightness, and dim the light. You can also save three different lighting scenes.
The Bluetooth wall switch is basically a light switch. But it has a lot built in, because the integrated electronics let you control four different elements with the switch without having to run any cables. You also connect the switch via the app. It is linked to the distributor to which the respective elements are connected. The four buttons on the Loox 5 Bluetooth wall switch can be assigned individually. You can use it not only to switch on and off, but also to control brightness and color temperature. The switch is battery-powered and can be glued or screwed in place.
Clips extend LED strips
A small but excellent accessory are Loox 5 connectors for LED strip lights. If, for example, you have a very wide cabinet, you may need to connect several LED strips to each other. For this, you need a special connector. These small plastic elements are available in different versions, namely for monochrome, multi-white and RGB LED strips, as well as for different strip widths. They are suitable for both 12 V and 24 V systems. A special version is corner connectors. If you want to route LED lighting around a corner, you also need a special connector for that. The LED strips are simply inserted on both sides. All you need to ensure is that the polarity is correct. That is easy, because on both strips the same side must face up. After inserting them, press the tab down until you hear a click. The clip connection is then complete.
