What are threaded sleeves and what are they used for?

Threaded sleeves are special connecting pieces used mainly in furniture manufacturing and metal construction. They are elongated metal cylinders with an internal thread at both ends. This internal thread allows two separate screws, bolts, or threaded rods to be connected to one another.

The use of threaded sleeves offers several advantages:

  • Length extension: If a screw or threaded rod is not long enough, threaded sleeves can be used to extend the length. In this case, each side of the sleeve is connected to a screw or threaded rod.
  • Stability: Threaded sleeves increase the stability of a connection, as they distribute the force acting on the connection more evenly.
  • Disassembly and reuse: Since threaded sleeves join screws together rather than permanently fastening them, the joined parts can be easily taken apart and reused if needed.

Threaded sleeves are available in various sizes, materials, and designs to meet different requirements in a wide range of applications.
