What different types of drawer slides are there?

There are various types of drawer slides that can be selected depending on the required use and application:

  • Full-extension slides: They allow the drawer to be pulled out completely from the cabinet. This makes all items stored in the drawer accessible, including those at the very back.
  • Telescopic slides: A commonly used model, also known as ball-bearing slides. They enable smooth and quiet gliding of the drawers. In addition, they are usually very robust and can support heavier loads.
  • Simple ball-bearing slides: These slides are a more affordable option and usually consist of a simple metal profile. However, they are less stable than telescopic slides.
  • Undermount guides: These are mounted under the drawer and are therefore not visible when the drawer is open. They are often used for lighter drawers and offer a good running comfort.
  • Concealed slides: These slides are a special type of undermount guide. They make it possible for the drawer to be completely invisible when closed. This type of slide is ideal for modern, minimalist designs.

When selecting the right drawer slide, you should always consider the weight of the drawer and the intended application.
