What types of cable ducts are there and what are their differences?
There are various types of cable channels that differ in material, shape, and application.
Material:
- Plastic channels: They are easy to handle, corrosion-resistant, and can be cut and installed easily. They are available in various colors and sizes, allowing for unobtrusive integration into the room design.
- Metal channels: They are particularly stable and robust, but more difficult to work with than plastic channels. They are often used in commercial and industrial environments where high load-bearing capacity is required.
Shape:
- Round channels: They are ideal for use in walls and floors, as they are easy to lay and secure.
- Flat channels: They are often the preferred choice for visible wall installation, as they protrude less and blend better into the room design.
Application:
- Floor channels: They are installed in floors to allow cable connections between different areas of a room without cables being visible.
- Flush-mounted channels: They are installed in the wall so that only the sockets are visible. However, this requires extensive construction work and is therefore often only practical for new builds or renovations.
